Shout Outs/Summer Season/Benefits/Engagement Survey Follow Up

From Christine Baker

Hi Team,

It has been another busy week, thankfully this one didn't drop below zero like our other busy weeks! We have a light at the end of the tunnel and some good snow has fallen.

Team Member Engagement Survey (TMES):
This year we had a high participation - a 64% response rate with very thoughtful suggestions for improvement. We appreciate the participation as well as the recommendations. Our overall score is an 81%, up from 77% last year. We invite you for pizza next Tuesday (2/22) in the amphitheater at 4:45 for a last Town Hall of the season. We will cover the issues brought up in the survey as well as potential solutions. We will use the time for a little social time as well as to see if we are on the right track with our solutions.

Summer Season Options:

Full-Time Variable Hours: If you are interested in working summer and winter season, we have a new program that will get seasonal team members into our medical plan and paid time off plan. Please reach out to our summer hiring managers for more information and see if this might be a good fit for you.

Shout Outs

  1. Chase Meck-He provided exceptional guest service for 3 Small Fry Tries in a row on the first powder day we’ve had in a month. The first one cried almost the entire time but Chase worked his magic and kept the child on skis for the entire 45 minutes. The last one was so small his vest came down to his boots and Chase kept him skiing the entire time as well.

  1. Rhian Alley – For expertly managing having two children with Autism in a group lesson at the same time (along with others), and delivering an exceptional experience!

  1. I would like to nominate Jasmine Madeyski for a shout out. Jasmine is such a positive presence at Big Sky.  She shows up to line-up ready to go for whatever task is needed.  As a fluent Spanish speaker, I have watched clients' faces light up when they realize that their lesson is going to be taught entirely in Spanish by Jasmine. She embodies the Big Sky mission by really truly "creating an exceptional guest experience" for all her clients.  In addition, Jasmine also takes on tasks that others might walk away from- even fixing the "out of order" stall in the women's restroom.  Thanks Jasmine for all you do!

  1. Dominick Malaussena – DOMINICK MALAUSSENA HAS DONE THE GRAND SWING. He taught TWO Small Fry Trys in the morning, and then guided some high-profile clients down The Big in the afternoon. Grand Swing completed. He even was happy to do trash pick-up duty in the plaza. Never a complaint, never anything but great instruction.

  1. Lauren Shell: Lauren has been spectacular with these difficult Montage lessons. She had 4 girls ages 4-7. To get to the carpets over here it is a 100 YD walk uphill which is exhausting for little skiers. After a few meltdowns (the shaking and screaming type) from the brand new 4 yr old, Lauren taught the group to ski parallel on the magic carpets in 3 long days. 1 of those days was supposed to be her day off. She showed great emotional strength and did all of this with a smile. Thank you Lauren!!

Thank you all for your exceptional contributions. Your 8am run can be any day between 3/19 and 3/25. Please email Christy Mikulich (cmikulich@bigskyresort.com) and your manager:

  • The date (3/19 and 3/25) that you’d like the early access loaded.

  • The name of your plus one

  • Please email at least 24hrs in advance

  • If anyone wants to nominate someone for a shout out, please send me an email with their name and the great things you are seeing!

All my best,
Christine
