Health Benefits/Training Supervisor Announcement/Winter Applications

From Christine Baker

Hi Team,

We are getting closer and closer to ski season and have some fun things to announce!

Health Benefits

Exciting news was announced today:

Beginning in Winter 2021/22, health insurance will be available to eligible seasonal team members.  This option has not previously been available to our valuable seasonal staff and we are pleased to now offer the benefits of medical coverage.

Enrollment in a Boyne Resorts health insurance plan will be offered at the start of the team member’s third consecutive season and if opting in, coverage is in effect through that season with a COBRA plan being offered as an option thereafter.  Minimum time worked each season is a requirement of eligibility.

Eligibility and Specifics:

·         Minimum number of weeks and hours (per resort requirements) must be worked each season

·         Seasons worked must be consecutive – such as three consecutive winters or summer > winter > summer

·         Coverage available at the start of the third consecutive qualifying season and in effect through that season

·         Benefit is available for team member only

·         Optional COBRA plan to be offered at season’s end

As we enter recruitment efforts for the upcoming winter season, please keep this new benefit top-of-mind.  Whether you are a team member encouraging friends and family to work with us or are a hiring manager, please contact your resort’s/store’s Human Resources Department for updated information on the many benefits of joining the Boyne Resorts family.

We will have the details, including week and hour commitment, soon, but wanted to let you know as soon as the plan was official.

Training Supervisor Announcement

We have had a lot of positive feedback about our training program and we also have received a lot of feedback that we have room to improve. As part of that improvement process, we are growing our training leadership team. We are so happy to announce your new additions to the training leadership team:

·         Jill Chumbley – Certification Supervisor (PT)

·         Matt Larson – Technology, Snowboard, and Freestyle Supervisor (PT)

·         Zoe Mavis – Children's Professional Development Supervisor (FT)

·         AJ Oliver – Adult Professional Development Supervisor (FT)

·         Dylan Ault – Madison Base Coordinator, Snowboard and Freestyle Supervisor (FT)

In addition to their training responsibilities, Zoe, AJ, and Dylan will each be taking on additional supervisory roles:

·         Zoe Mavis – Montage Supervisor

·         AJ Oliver – MV Adult Alpine Program Supervisor

·         Dylan Ault – MB Adult Alpine Program Supervisor

The training team will be working in a very collaborative way and I’m really excited for the energy, motivation, professionalism, and much more that they will bring!

Winter Applications

We anticipate winter applications to go online next week www.bigskyresort.com/employment . Matt Ruuhela and Chris Kronebusch will be actively hiring once the positions are posted. Jennie will back in the office starting August 20 and hopes to see all returning instructor applications in her inbox on the 20th. Like last year, Matt will be hiring for Paul. Paul’s official winter start date is Oct. 18.

All my best,

Christine
