Big Sky Update 9/10/2021 (Pro-Scheduler, Lifts, Vaccines & More)

From Matt Ruuhela

Hello Everyone!

I hope you have been enjoying the last bit of summer before fall arrives this year.  I’m hoping to provide an update for you of what has been going on lately around Big Sky.

Swifty Update

There was a large helicopter flying around here the last couple of days and they have successfully placed all of the new towers and removed all of the old ones.  The bottom terminal is rapidly taking shape as well.  Here is a link to the video on the resort’s Facebook page.  I’m sure everyone is excited for this new lift!

NEW Smoking and Vaping Policy

It’s official!  As of Nov. 1st 2021, Big Sky Resort will be a Smoke-Free Campus for employees and guests.

Big Sky Townhall

If you are interested the slides from our recent Townhall meeting are attached to this e-mail.  Some good information and photos in there.

Vaccination Updates

President Biden recently announced a rule requiring all employers with 100 or more employees to ensure that their workforce is fully vaccinated.  We are strongly urging everyone to get vaccinated prior to working at Big Sky this winter!  Our plan this winter is to fully load our chairlifts.

Pro-Scheduling Update

This tool will allow YOU to set your schedule in the beginning of the season.  Managers will be working hard to set up the frame work this in September which will then allow you to sign up for certain types of work depending on your eligibility (as set by the manager).

·         Do you know that you’d like to have Thursdays and Fridays off all season?

o    Perfect, don’t sign up for work on those days!

·         Are you Holiday Help and not sure how to best fill out your schedule?

o    ProScheduler will tell you which days we need you and what activities you can do!

We are in the final stages of testing right now and anticipate this rolling out in late September/Early October.  This will not take the place of Schedule Change Requests but can be used in conjunction.  Think of ProScheduler as your early season set up and Schedule Change Requests as adjustments during the season for something maybe a week or two out.

ProPay

In an effort to get on-snow supervisors, on snow interacting with students and instructors more we are excited about ProPay.  We’ve been testing this feature with the Bike Guides this summer and it’s been well received by Supervisors.  The second/minute you make your class list, a supervisor can confirm the students, add the level you are teaching and in 3 clicks you are paid!

ProBooking

Many of you have started filling in your schedules with ProBookings, currently 85% of private lessons booked have been done through ProBooking.  Thank you, thank you, thank you! This year we will be adding Full Day Tram Guides to be ProBooked. If it goes well, we will consider adding half days as well.  It’s a bit tricky as there is a cap of 2 people per Tram Guide and the Tram Access is included in the price and will need to be added to the guest profile.  More details on the specifics of how to book that will be coming soon.

Just a heads up that ProBooking will be disabled from 9/13-9/20 as we make some changes to our product set up and create lessons for the Montage & Spanish Peaks location.  Once it is back up we will send an email noting the changes and how that will impact future bookings.

Thanks Everyone!
